A BIRD HAS A DAY OUT

At Susi's monthly challenge "Art Journal Journey"Yvonne is asking us to make artwork on the theme "Out and About".

Another challenge I have followed with interest but never entered till now is a wonderful pattern challenge at "Müllerin Art" where Michaela is asking us to make patterns with Spring Flowers.

This is how I started using a very old version of Windows Paint and the mouse to paint the picture.
The free Web photo-editor Tuxpi created the frame.

A bird visits a Spring tulip.

Lots of birds playing in the pink sky, making a patterned star.

The bird found more Spring Flowers but he still likes the tulip best.  He loves to be "Out and About" in the Spring.

Two birds playing.

These bird ghosts emerged from the painting after many hours with photo-editing, swirling and kaleidoscoping.

The bird ghosts wanted to do some formation flying with their friends.

I hope you enjoyed the original paintings and the patterns from them.

Do have a look at these two challenges where you will find lots of wonderful paintings and patterns.

  2. The bright pink woke me up right quick. Isn't that a gorgeous color. Little wonder that is such a happy-go-lucky bird and tulip. I feel like birdie, it's been beautiful Spring-like days lately. I hope it isn't a tease. How clever that one sweet bird can create his own friends and form a star. Such talent. I love the bright colors on the black background. It's amazing how many different designs you created with the start of one bird and one tulip. I've enjoyed the show! Applaud for all the talented birds.

  4. Super fun colors, vibrant and alive.
The last two designs look a bit tribal to me. Fun to see how when you play with your art it offers such different feelings and looks to it.

love your sweet bird, which though i have birds now, reminds me of spring.

  10. I love how you took those playful pieces and turned them into kaleidoscope images. I think the bird had a fun time out and about and went to relive it over and over again. :) I am sure it was a warm and spring like day. Because many of us want that right now, if we don't yet have it, like me. Enjoy the rest of your weekend Sheila. Hugs-Erika

  11. As always, your fertile mind and your incredible digital skills came together to create some truly wonderful art. I loved the birds and how they chose to do some formation flying. But I also loved it when the bird chose the tulip over all the other colorful flowers. You are a master of fun and a digital art master.

  20. Ohh - Windows Paint has YOUR Pink! Fantastic how you created this tulip and bird with your mouse! Only on the second sight I saw that the frame is the duplicated picture in endless number. The others spring flowers are looking a little bit sad, because the bird only likes its tulip.
Yes, you had much fun playing around for so many patterns ... till the ghost bird looks at you, huch! Why not playing with him? OK, Sheila did!
I like all your gorgeous pictures!
    Love, Rike

  27. These little birds on their black background are absolutely stunning, Sheila! I especially like the formation flying, and the two birds playing. The swirly band crossing the two birds area must have taken a power of editing. Super! Hugs xx
